The Fries United Methodist Church is accepting donations to help with the repair of the church's stained glass windows. Time has taken its' toll. Anyone interested in making a donation may leave it at The Back Porch Gallery in Fries, or call the Methodist Church at (276) 744-3514 and leave a message and someone will get back to you.
The Fries Lions Club calendars are now on sale for $3.50 each and may be purchased at The Back Porch Gallery. All proceeds go to the Lions Club.
Fries Town Council meets the 1st Tuesday of every month. 7:00PM at the Bingo Hall.
Help the Fries Recreation Center Help Our Kids!
The Fries Recreation Center has programs and activities for everyone, but can always use your help in providing more and better activities for our kids. Please visit Fries Rec Center for information on ways you can help the Rec Center help our children.
Fries Public Library presents "Story Time" every Wednesday at 11AM. Bring the kids and join us for stories, fingerplays, music, and fun!
Thursday night jams at Big Daddy's Restaurant from 7PM-9PM until further notice!
The Back Porch Gallery is having live music with Alvin and Friends every Friday afternoon from 3PM - 5PM. Come and visit with us!
Recycling truck will be available the last Saturday of the month on Water Plant Rd. Will pickup #1 and #2 plastic, aluminum cans, newspaper, cardboard, & magazines. Also heavy appliances if you supply the labor to transfer from your vehicle to theirs.

Bingo every Saturday night at the Fries Fire House, 6:30 PM for early birds and 7:00PM for regular bingo. Progressive $1000 jackpot.
New River Wildlife and Conservation Club at 7107 Riverside Dr. will host a Rook Tournament every Saturday night at 6PM. $5.00 entry fee. Bring your own partner.
Bill Davis has a historical DVD on sale with footage of the cotton mill and folks working there before it closed. DVD's are $50 and may be purchased at The Back Porch Gallery. All money in excess of the burning of the DVD's will be donated to the Fries Rec Center. You can also call Town Hall at (276) 744-2231 for more information.
Tuesday morning Art Classes at The Back Porch Gallery in Fries VA from 9AM - 11AM. Call Regina Sayers, Instructor, at (276) 699-7819 or Back Porch Gallery at (276) 744-7642 for more information.
Town Clean-Up Day, Saturday, May 10 from 9AM - 12 Noon and 1PM - 5PM. Items accepted include appliances, furniture, and tree & brush clippings. No paint, chemicals, tires, or building materials will be accepted. Please bring items to collection point on Water Plant Rd.
Benefit Sunday, June 8 at Fries Middle School from 1PM - 4PM for Baby Isobelle Harrell, the 7 month old daughter of Bryony and Jeremy Harrell who has been diagnosed with Dandy Walker Syndrome.
Activities include:
Gospel Singing:
Tones of Victory from 1PM - 2PM
Close to Home from 2PM - 3PM
Soul Seekers from 3PM - 4PM
Motorcycle Ride:
Ride starts at 1PM at Fries Middle School. Rider registration is $10.00 and includes meal.
Silent Auction
Hot Dog Supper:
Menu includes hot dogs, baked beans, chips, dessert, and drink for $4.00. Carryouts will be available.
Sponsored by Friends at Fries Middle School & Providence Elementary School and Turkey Knob Church.
Please come and support a worthy cause - All proceeds go toward medical bills.

Parade entrants are requested to pick up form at the Rec Center or call Kari Hill at (276) 233-2445 or Jill Hill at (276) 744-2231 to register. Everyone needs to assemble in his or her assigned lot by 11:30AM. Registration is very important to avoid confusion & let each entrant know where the starting & ending points are. The parade will not enter the ballpark this year.
